Governess

Governess

Nanny/Housekeepers/PAs Bilingual Nanny Jobs

Governesses are a highly respected and established member of domestic staff, who are trained to the very highest standard to provide your children with an outstanding and personal level of education. They come with years of experience in the care and tuition of pre-school, and school-aged children, and many are fluent in a second language, or even multilingual. Each of our governesses will have a unique method of educating and raising children, and our consultants use their wealth of experience to match candidates with your family’s ethos and needs.

In contrast to a nanny, governess concentrates mainly on teaching children and their educational needs, not their physical ones.

  • Education and social development of the children in your home is the core responsibility of the Governess.
  • School homework help and tuition.
  • A Bilingual Governess is often asked to teach children a second language: French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and the list goes on.
  • A Governess may also teach a musical instrument if it is required
  • Experience and professionalism
  • Proven teaching background or higher education and a minimum of five years professional experience
  • Ability to work alongside a nanny or mothers’ help
  • Ability to care for children, from newborn through to sixteen years old.
  • Social etiquette and cultural understanding
  • Bilingual experience (if required)
  • Musical instrument teaching experience (if required)

Our highly educated pool of candidates include the following:

  • Nannies
  • Bilingual Nannies

  • Nanny PA’s

Regardless of their role, all of our applicants go through a highly selective screening process that includes a background check, thorough reference review, interviews and more. This process is done meticulously in order to guarantee a high probability of success. All candidates are instructed to maintain the utmost discretion and confidentiality, and must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement, if desired.

  • Starting salaries are from £600 to £1000 plus net per week.  It depends on candidate’s credentials and experience.
  • Room & board to be provided by the family.
  • Salary guide is based on a 5 or 5 and half day work week, up to 8 a day, and is presented to you as a guide.  Final salary always varies depending on the overall package offered.
